The Situation
One million children have been forced to flee Ukraine, according to data released by UNICEF, seeking refuge in neighboring countries such as Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Moldova and Romania. Greece has also welcomed thousands of refugee children according to the Greek Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, accompanied by their mothers, a female neighbour, relative, or family friend.
The Greek-Ukrainian community representatives and authorities expect the number of refugees to increase as the war continues.
The Need: Creation of a Refugee Shelter
At “Together for Children”, we aim to create a shelter for these children and their mothers and/or companions who fled to Greece, and provide them with accommodations, food, basic necessities, counseling, psychological support, and education.
The refugee shelter is located in the center of Athens, with a capacity of 20 individuals. The cost for the equipment and operation of the shelter is estimated to be € 150,000 for a period of 6 months.
Our goal
With your support, our initial goal is to raise € 50,000 for our shelter for 20 individuals, children and refugee mothers from Ukraine.
